5.9.2 Input weighting
This function performs gain correction on the results of measurements performed with a 10:1 passive probe
intended for use with oscilloscopes or pre-amplifiers, etc. connected to the input connectors of the
instrument (CH1 and CH2) and displays the results. The correction is converted to an input signal level for
the measurements. The setting is done with

[CH1],[CH2]
: Set the factors to be applied to CH1 and CH2 for measurement. If a factor of 1.0
is set, there will be no change in the measurement data.
[INVERT]
: Invert the phase of the measurement results (180 degrees). The amplitude and
gain are not changed, but the measurements are performed with the phase
increased by 180°.
Note that the input weight setting does not affect input over-level detection, amplitude compression, or
automatic high density sweeping. Those functions operate in the same way as without the weighting.
■ Examples of setting weight coefficients
• When using a 10:1 oscilloscope probe
When a probe is connected to CH1,
[CH1]
is set to 10.0. The setting is similar when the probe is
connected to CH2. The setting is the inverse of the probe attenuation. It is the same when an attenuator
is connected.
• When using a preamplifier
When a preamplifier that has a gain of 40 dB (× 100) is connected to CH1,
[CH1]
is set to 0.01 (1/100).
The setting is similar when the probe is connected to CH2.
• When using a shunt resistance
For impedance measurements, a current detection resistance (shunt resistor) is used for conversion of
current to voltage. The connection is to CH2.
[CH2]
is set to the inverse of the shunt resistance. If a 10
Ω shunt resistor is used,
[CH2]
is set to 0.1.
• When using a 0.1 V/A current probe, the weight coefficient for the channel to which the current probe is
connected is set to 10.0.
