5.4 Oscillator control
For information on the basic settings (frequency, AC amplitude, and DC bias) and on/off control, refer to

4.3 Oscillator settings
". This section explains more advanced oscillator control.
5.4.1 On/off mode
You can select between two modes for turning the oscillator output on and off. In the QUICK mode, the
output is turned on or off immediately; in the SLOW mode, the output is turned on or off gradually over a
period of about 10 seconds. In measurements where sudden changes in signal level are not expected, such
as when measuring vibration testers or mechanical servos, select the SLOW mode. The setting is done

: Gradual change to on or off over 10 seconds for both AC amplitude and DC bias outputs
An example of operation for the SLOW setting is illustrated below.

When the off state is included before and after the change, such as when changing from the output off state
to the output on state or from the output on state to the output off state, the oscillator output voltage (both
AC and DC) changes continuously. However, please note that when the off state is not included before and
after the change (setting value 1 -> setting value 2 -> setting value 3), a discontinuous spike noise of about
10 ms is generated in the oscillator output with the timing indicated by (A) and (B) in
Figure 5-2
. That
spike noise can be prevented by setting the output to off before changing settings and then turning the
output on.
