The PWR_I2C sends all hard-coded commands using a multi-byte command sequence with the following
format:
Register A, N and X are not required to be contiguous address values. The PWR_I2C may send up to 8 register
address/data pairs. The PWR_I2C will send the Slave Address only one time and will not send a STOP until all
register address/data pairs have been sent.
1) 0x07 is sent if both comms and apps is enabled, if apps only the 0x05 is sent
2) ADTV2 is sent only if the apps state or frequency is changed
3) CDTV2 is sent only if the comms state or frequency is changed
4) 0x33 is sent if only apps voltage is changed, 0x3E is sent if only comms voltage changed
8.8.3.1
Start-of-Day (SOD) Operation
The PWR_I
2
C and voltage-change sequencer are used to enable and initially configure the power supplies when
triggered during the SOD sequence. The MPMU controls the activation of the PWR_I
2
C during the SOD
sequence. When triggered, the PWR_I
2
C sends hard-coded commands to set the output voltage and enable each
of the DVM supplies. The external regulator must be designed to implement the Control registers as specified in
the PXA3xx Processor PMIC Application Note. The PWR_I
2
C sends the following commands during the SOD
sequence: Note that the comms supply is configured but NOT enabled during SOD.
1. Write VCC_APPS DVM Target Voltage 1 register (ADTV1) to set the VCC_APPS output voltage to the
SOD voltage setting. The SOD voltage setting is the highest voltage setting used.
2. Write VCC_SRAM DVM Target Voltage 1 register (SDTV1) to set the VCC_SRAM output voltage to the
SOD voltage setting.
3. Write 0x05 to Output Voltage Enable register 1 (OVER1) in the external regulator to enable the VCC_APPS
and VCC_SRAM supplies to their programmed voltages.
For information only, these values are subject to change without notice
