•
To prevent personal injury caused by falling or
stumbling due to slipping, never step on the
bonnet or cover, as they do not have non-slip
surfaces.
•
When working on the engine bonnet, fasten the
hook on your safety belt to the point indicated
by the arrow in the diagram.
PRECAUTIONS WHEN WORKING UNDER
THE MACHINE AND CRANE
•
When lifting up the machine, use a hoist or
hydraulic jack in good condition and with
sufficient capacity to withstand the weight of all
the components. Note that hydraulic jacks
should not be used for lifting any parts that are
damaged, bent, or twisted. Do not use wire rope
for hoisting if it is damaged, thinning, or kinked.
Do not use a hook if it is bent or damaged.
•
When standing underneath the machine while it
is lifted is unavoidable for inspection or
maintenance servicing, securely support the
machine using blocks and stays that are sturdy
enough to withstand the machine weight.
Otherwise, the machine may topple, resulting in
serious personal injury.
•
Do not use concrete blocks to support the
machine. Concrete block are liable to break
even under a light load.
CLEAN BEFORE INSPECTION OR
MAINTENANCE
•
Before starting inspection or maintenance,
clean the machine to prevent the ingress of
debris into the machine and to ensure safety
during maintenance.
•
Attempting to inspect or maintain the machine
while it is still dirty not only lessens the chances
of locating faulty parts, but may result in injuries
such as slipping, tripping, or debris or mud
entering your eye.
•
Always observe the following when washing the
vehicle:
Use non-slip shoes to prevent slipping and
tripping on wet footholds.
Wear protective equipment when using
high-pressure steam washing equipment.
Prevent accidents due to high-pressure water
causing skin lacerations or mud or other
substance entering the eyes.
Do not directly spray water onto electrical
systems (sensors and connectors (1)). Water
entering the electrical system is dangerous
and will cause faulty or improper operations.
Never use high-pressure water to clean
inside the machine. Water entering the
sensors and connectors is dangerous and
will cause faulty or improper operations.
