5.3 MACHINE TRAVELLING
M A E D A
Crawler Crane
5-10
5/2020 CC1908S-1
Operate the right-hand control lever to the
"Hoist down" side (push forward) as
necessary so that the hook is not
overwound.
9.
Repeat the operation from step 5 to step 8
for 5 minutes.
10.
In cold conditions, repeat the operation from
step 5 to step 8 as necessary.
STOPPING ENGINE
IMPORTANT
• Stopping the engine before it has
sufficiently cooled down may shorten the
service life of the engine components. Do
not stop the engine suddenly except in an
emergency.
• If the engine has overheated, do not stop
the engine suddenly. Reduce the engine
speed to gradually cool it down before
stopping.
1.
Release your foot from the pedal to reduce
the speed to idle, and continue operating
with no load for approximately five minutes.
2.
Turn the starter switch key to the "OFF"
position.
The engine stops.
3.
Remove the starter switch key.
MACHINE TRAVELLING
PRECAUTIONS WHEN
TRAVELLING
WARNING
Failure to adhere to these precautions when
travelling may result in serious personal
injury.
5.3.1.1 TRAVELLING
PRECAUTIONS
Travelling over obstructions such as boulders or
tree stumps may subject the machine (especially
the undercarriage) to impact and damage it.
Try to avoid travelling over obstructions where
possible, either by avoiding or removing the
obstructions.
If you cannot avoid travelling over obstructions,
be sure to drive the machine in its “travelling
posture” to lower its centre of gravity and reduce
speed as much as possible so that the machine
can ride over obstructions under the centre of its
crawler tracks.
For details on the machine travelling
posture, refer to "5.3.2 MACHINE
TRAVELLING POSTURE" on P. 5-15.
Always observe the following points to prevent
serious injuries or fatal accidents when moving
the machine:
•
Arrange the machine in its "travelling posture"
as shown in the figure.
Do not drive the machine without stowing the
hook block.
