5.4 CRANE OPERATION
M A E D A
Crawler Crane
5-42
5/2020 CC1908S-1
When the hook block (3) is over-
hoisted, the warning buzzer sounds,
and the hoisting operation stops
automatically.
6.
Slide down the hook stowage lever on the
right-hand control lever (1) to hoist the hook
block (3) and stow it beneath the boom tip.
The working status lamp illuminates in
red while winding up using this lever.
Loads cannot be raised by operating the
winch using this lever, but this is not a
fault.
The figure shows the hook block (3)
stowed beneath the boom tip.
5.4.11.2 NORMAL
HOOK
BLOCK
STOWAGE
WARNING
• When stowing the hook block, operate the
right-hand and left-hand control levers
carefully. Otherwise, the hook block may
sway considerably, possibly damaging
surrounding equipment and resulting in
serious personal injury.
• Raise the boom to near the hook block
stowage position. If the hook block is not
close to the stowage position, the hook
block may detach when attempting to attach
it to the stowage rope, possibly damaging
surrounding equipment and resulting in
serious personal injury.
IMPORTANT
• Stop the hook block swaying before
stowing it in the normal stowage position.
• Take care not to lower the hook block
excessively in order to prevent it from
coming into contact with the ground. Doing
so results in irregular winding on the winch
drum.
• The boom "Retracting" operation will lower
the hook block. The hook block also lowers
with the boom "Lowering" operation. Use
the hoisting operation simultaneously to
prevent the hook block from coming into
contact with the ground.
