Remove the air breather (oil inlet cap) (F).

Fit the new cap.

Attach the cover (1) on top of the hydraulic oil
tank.
[6] Winch gearbox casing oil replacement
Replace only at the first servicing of a new
machine. Subsequently, replace every 1,000
hours.
For details on maintenance locations and
methods, refer to "6.17.7 MAINTENANCE EVERY
1,000 HOURS" on P. 6-66.
[7] Fuel prefilter cartridge replacement
WARNING
• Parts will still be hot immediately after
stopping the engine operation. Do not
proceed with fuel filter replacement
immediately, but wait for the engine to cool
until you can touch it with your bare hands.
• The engine fuel pipes are pressurised while
the engine is running. Before replacing the
filter, wait for at least 30 seconds after
stopping the engine to allow the internal
pressure to drop, then replace the filter.
• Be extremely careful of naked flames,
including cigarettes, when replacing the fuel
filter elements.
• Diesel fuel can be extremely flammable and
explosive under certain conditions.
• Do not use diesel fuel as a cleaning fluid.
• When removing fuel system parts for
maintenance (such as fuel filter
replacement), place a dedicated container
below the opening to prevent any fuel from
spilling on to the floor.
• Wipe up any spilled fuel immediately.
• Wear eye protection. The fuel system is
pressurized, and fuel may spurt out when
parts are removed.
IMPORTANT
Genuine fuel filter cartridges feature a special
filter with high-efficiency filtering
characteristics. Always use genuine Maeda
filters for replacement.
• Prepare a container to catch the drained oil.
• Prepare a dedicated filter wrench.

Open the right cover.
2.
Place the oil-receiving container under the
fuel prefilter cartridge.
3.
Rotate the fuel cock (3) to the position
marked (2) to close it.
4.
Loosen the drain cock (4) to drain the fuel and
any contaminants.
5.
Turn the cup (1) in an counterclockwise
direction (10) to remove it from the bracket.
6.
Take care when removing the cup to prevent
fuel spilling out. Wipe up any spilled fuel.
7.
Remove the float ring (8) from the cup.
8.
Remove the element from the bracket.
9.
Clean the inside of the cup using fresh fuel.
10.
Inspect the condition of the cup O-ring, and
replace it if necessary.
11.
Place a float ring inside the cup, and attach
the O-ring and new element inside the cup.
12.
Mount the cup on the bracket, and tighten in a
clockwise direction (6) to a torque of 27 N
･
m
to 33 N ･ m (2.8 kgf ･ m to 3.4 kgf ･ m). Be sure to
tighten by hand.
