Mount the new fuel filter. Rotate clockwise by
hand until the base is in contact with the
mounting face. Now use a filter wrench to
tighten to the specified tightening torque (or
tighten one further turn).

Open the fuel cock on the fuel prefilter to its
original position.
7.
After replacing the filter cartridge, refer to
"6.19.6 FUEL CIRCUIT AIR BLEEDING" on
page 6-99 and bleed the air.
8.
Close the right cover.
[9] Air cleaner element replacement
WARNING
• Do not replace the air cleaner element while
the engine is running.
Such action may damage the engine.
• When using compressed air, watch out for
debris scattering, which may cause personal
injury. Wear goggles, a dust mask, and other
protective equipment.

Remove the element referring to "[6] Air
cleaner inspection/cleaning" on P. 6-57.
IMPORTANT
• Avoid using the element if the groove,
gasket, or seal is damaged.
• Package unused elements and store them in
a dry place.
2.
Mount the new outer element (4).
IMPORTANT
If clogging recurs rapidly even after cleaning
or replacing the outer element (4), replace the
inner element (5).
3.
Align the mark on the dust cup (3) with the
mark on the air cleaner body, and secure in
place with the clip (2).
