2.1 BASIC PRECAUTIONS
M A E D A
Crawler Crane
2-4
5/2020 CC1908S-1
ALWAYS KEEP THE MACHINE CLEAN.
•
If soil, sand, oil, or grease is allowed to build up
on the machine, it may cause slipping or falling
when climbing onto or down from the machine
or when servicing it. Wipe off any soil, sand, oil,
or grease to keep the machine clean at all
times.
•
When washing or steam-cleaning the machine,
make sure water does not splash directly onto
its electrical devices. Water entering the
electrical system may cause electrical
equipment to malfunction, causing the machine
to operate unexpectedly or resulting in serious
personal injury.
KEEP THE OPERATOR'S CAB CLEAN AND
TIDY
•
Remove dirt, oil, and grease from your shoes
before getting into the cab. Operating the
pedals with shoes that are contaminated with
dirt, oil, or grease may cause slipping-related
accidents.
•
Do not leave items or tools in the operator's cab.
Items and tools left in the cab may interfere with
operation, causing the machine to operate
unexpectedly or resulting in serious personal
injury.
•
Do not attach suction cups to the windows.
These may act as a lens and cause fires.
•
Do not bring any dangerous substances (such
as combustibles and explosives) into the cab.
•
Do not use a mobile phone while driving or
operating the machine. This may cause
incorrect operation, resulting in serious
personal injury.
PROVISION OF FIRE EXTINGUISHER AND
FIRST-AID BOX
Always observe the following points to prepare for
injuries and fires:
•
To prepare for the possibility of fire, decide on a
location and install a fire extinguisher. Be sure
to read the usage instructions on the label
attached to enable action to be taken in the
case of an emergency.
•
Decide on the location for a first-aid box. Also
make sure that the first-aid box is inspected
periodically and replenished as necessary.
•
Decide on the procedures for dealing with
injuries and fires.
•
Decide on the procedures for reaching
emergency contacts (such as an emergency
doctor, ambulance, and fire department), and
display these contacts in the designated
position, where everyone can access them.
2.1.3 FIRE-PREVENTION
PRECAUTIONS
WHAT TO DO IF A FIRE OCCURS
•
Turn the starter switch to "OFF" to turn off the
engine.
•
Exit the machine using the handrails and steps.
•
Do not jump off the machine. Otherwise there is
a risk of injury from falling.
FIRE PREVENTION
• Fire caused by fuel, oil, anti-freeze fluid, or
window-washer liquid
There is a risk of ignition if open flames are
brought near the fuel, oil, anti-freeze fluid, or
window-washer liquid. The following points
must be strictly adhered to:
Do not smoke or use open flames near the
machine.
Be sure to turn off the engine when refuelling.
