[Tension adjustment]
5.
Loosen the bolt (6), bolt (9), and nut (10).
Loosen the bolt (6), bolt (9), and nut (10),
but do not remove them. Removing them
will make it impossible to position the
adjustment bracket (8).
6.
Tighten or loosen bolt (7) and press down on
the middle of the belt (A) between the crank
pulley (4) and the compressor pulley (5) with
your thumb (approximately 17.7 N [1.8 kgf]).
Adjust the adjustment bracket (8) position to
ensure that the deflection (A) is 4 mm.
Tightening bolt (7) increases the belt
tension. Loosening the bolt decreases
the belt tension.
After replacing the belt, run the machine
for at least five minutes before
readjusting.
7.
Tighten bolts (6) and (9) to secure the
adjustment bracket (8).
Tightening torque: 27 N
∙ m [2.8 kgf ∙ m]
8.
Tighten the nut (10) to secure the compressor.
Tightening torque: 53 N
∙ m [5.4 kgf ∙ m]
IMPORTANT
When checking the A/C compressor belt
tension, check the following at the same time:
• Check the pulleys for damage, V groove
wear, and V belt wear. In particular, make
sure that the belt is not in contact with the
bottom of the V groove.
• If the belt has stretched leaving no margin
for adjustment, or if it is cut or cracked and
makes a slipping/squeaking sound, replace
the belt.

Attach the fan (2) guard and compressor
guard (3).
10.
Close the machinery cover (1).
[5] Fuel tank contaminating water and
sediment draining
• Prepare a container to catch the drained water.
1.
Slew the upper slewing body so that the drain
valve (1) on the bottom of the tank is located
between the right and left crawler tracks.
2.
Stop the engine, open the under cover below
the tank, and place a container to catch
drained fuel under the drain valve (1).
3.
Open the drain valve (1) to drain sediment
and water accumulated on the bottom
together with fuel.
Be careful not to get covered with fuel.
4.
Close the drain valve (1) when only clean fuel
flows out.
5.
Close the under cover.
[6] Air cleaner inspection/cleaning
Also clean or replace the air cleaner element if the
error code [EH02] appears on the monitor screen.
WARNING
• Do not clean the air cleaner while the engine
is running.
Such an action may damage the engine.
• When using compressed air, watch out for
debris scattering, which may cause personal
injury. Wear goggles, a dust mask, and other
protective equipment.
IMPORTANT
Be sure to clean the element, as the engine
output will be reduced if the element becomes
clogged. Depending on the operating
environment, it may be necessary to clean it
sooner than the maintenance schedule
indicates.
Also clean the air cleaner immediately if an air
cleaner clogging error occurs.
