DURING STORAGE
DANGER
If the machine has to be moved while indoors,
open windows and doors for better ventilation
to prevent gas poisoning.
• Be sure to operate the machine once a month
during storage to maintain an oil film on
lubricated parts. Recharge the battery at the
same time.
• Before operating the crane, wipe off grease
applied to the exposed sections of the hydraulic
cylinder piston rods.
• Operate the air conditioner at low idle for three
to five minutes once a month to keep the oil in
all parts of the A/C compressor. Also inspect
the amount of refrigerant gas once every three
months.
AFTER STORAGE
IMPORTANT
If the machine has not been operated once a
month during long-term storage, contact us or
our sales service agency before using the
machine.
Perform the following before using the machine
after long-term storage:
• Remove the drain plug on the fuel tank,
hydraulic oil tank, and engine oil pan to drain
any water mixed in.
• Be sure to refuel, grease, and change the oil.
• Wipe off grease applied to the exposed
sections of the hydraulic cylinder piston rods.
• Check the battery indicator, then turn the
disconnecting switch to "ON". If the battery was
removed from the machine for storage, reinstall
it in the machine.
• Carefully perform the check before starting
operation and perform warm-up operation
before inspecting the various parts of the
machine.
HANDLING IN COLD
CONDITIONS
PREPARING FOR LOW
TEMPERATURES
In cold conditions, the machine may have difficulty
starting. Take the following actions:
[1] Lubricating oil
Change the lubricating oil to one with a lower
viscosity.
For details on the specified viscosity, refer to
"6.5.1 USE OF FUEL AND LUBRICATING OIL
DEPENDING ON TEMPERATURE" on P. 6-11.
[2] Cooling water
WARNING
• Antifreeze is flammable. Keep antifreeze
away from naked flames. Do not smoke
when handling antifreeze.
• Antifreeze is toxic. Keep it away from your
eyes and skin. Should it come into contact
with your eyes or skin, wash the affected
area with plenty of water and seek medical
attention immediately.
• Cooling water containing antifreeze that has
been discharged at the time of cooling water
replacement and repair should be
contracted to a specialized subcontractor,
or contact us or our sales service agency.
As antifreeze is toxic, do not drain it into a
drain or pour it onto the ground.
IMPORTANT
Never use methanol-based, ethanol-based, or
propanol-based antifreeze.
