AIR-CONDITIONER
INSPECTION/
MAINTENANCE
[1] Air-conditioning unit inspection
Perform an inspection once every three months.
Inspection is required even during seasons when
the air conditioner is not in use.
[Check items]
• Abnormal vibration and abnormal operating
noise from the compressor
• Oil seeping out from and around the
compressor
• Scratches, corrosion, rust, or other defects on
the compressor
• Frosting on the air conditioner's heat-exchanger
in the cab
[2] Refrigerant (gas) level inspection
WARNING
• If the air conditioner refrigerant gets into
your eyes, there is a risk of loss of sight, and
if it comes into contact with your skin, it may
cause frostbite. Never touch the refrigerant.
Do not loosen any parts within the
refrigerant circuit.
• Keep naked flames away from refrigerant
leaks.
CAUTION
If any shortage of refrigerant (gas) is found, be
sure to identify the leakage location and repair
it.
A shortage of refrigerant (gas) will reduce the
cooling performance.
With the engine running at full speed and the air
conditioner running at high speed, open the right
cover and check the state of refrigerant gas
(R134a) flowing in the refrigerant circuit by
viewing it through the sight glass (1) (inspection
window).
(A) No air bubbles in the flow: Normal
(B) Air bubbles in the flow (air bubbles pass
continuously): There is insufficient
refrigerant.
(C) Colourless and transparent: No refrigerant
When air bubbles appear, there is insufficient
refrigerant. Repair the leak, then replenish
the refrigerant.
[3] Storage of inspection/maintenance
servicing history
Keep records of the administrator's name, location
of the machine, initial amount of freon filled, and
dates of inspection, repair, refrigerant recovery,
and refrigerant filling until the machine is disposed
of.
