6.17 PERIODIC MAINTENANCE
M A E D A
Crawler Crane
6-68
5/2020 CC1908S-1
4.
Using the filter wrench, turn the filter (2)
counterclockwise to remove it.
5.
Clean the filter base, thinly apply oil to the
gasket face of the new filter, and refit it on the
filter base.
6.
When reinstalling the filter cartridge, tighten it
by 3/4 of a turn after the gasket face comes
into contact with the sealing face of the filter
base.
Overtightening the filter cartridge may
damage the gasket mating surface,
leading to fuel leakage. Also, a loose
fitting may cause fuel leakage around the
gasket. Always maintain the correct
tightening angle.
When using a filter wrench for tightening,
take care not to leave scratches or dents
on the filter.
7.
Attach the cover (1) on top of the hydraulic oil
tank.
8.
Run the engine at low idle for 10 minutes after
starting it to bleed the air.
9.
Stop the engine.
After stopping the engine, let it stand still
for at least five minutes before restarting.
This allows the air bubbles trapped in the
oil in the hydraulic oil tank to discharge
into the atmosphere.
10.
Check for any oil leakage, and wipe away any
spilt oil.
[4] Hydraulic oil line filter element
replacement
WARNING
Parts will still be hot immediately after
stopping the engine operation. Do not replace
the filter immediately. Wait until the oil has
cooled.
IMPORTANT
For details on the oil used, refer to "6.5.1 USE
OF FUEL AND LUBRICATING OIL DEPENDING
ON TEMPERATURE" on P. 6-11.
• Prepare a container to catch the drained oil.
• Prepare a filter wrench.
1.
Stow the hook block in the simple stowage
position, and arrange the machine in its
"travelling posture" as shown in the figure.
2.
Open the machinery cover.
3.
Place a container to catch the drained oil
under the filter element.
4.
Turn the filter case (4) counterclockwise and
remove the element (2) and O-ring (3) from
the filter base (4).
