(3) Adjusting developing bias voltage (reference)

The developing bias voltage is factory-adjusted. Only perform the following adjustment
when carrier or background appears on the copy image after control VR202 on the high-
voltage transformer PCB has been turned accidentally.

Required adjustment tool

• Tester

Procedure

Start

Remove the 1-pin developing
bias connector from DB OUT
on the high-voltage transform-
er PCB, and apply the tester's
positive terminal to DB OUT.

Enter 31 with the numeric
keys.

Yes

No

Apply the tester's negative
terminal to an uncoated part
of the copier's frame.

Enter simulation mode.

Press the all clear/reset key.

Press the stop/clear key.

Does the devel-

oping bias voltage read the

specified value?

End

Turn control VR202 until the
specified value (280

±

5 V DC)

is reached.

Turn the control counterclockwise to decrease
the voltage and clockwise to increase it.
If developing bias is set below the specified level,
a dark background shows; if it is above the
specified level, the copy image is too light.

Press the all clear/reset key.

Exit simulation mode.

Press the print key.
