(3) Detaching and refitting the bypass upper pulley

Clean or replace the bypass upper pulley as follows.

Procedure

1. Remove the right lower cover.
2. Disengage the stopper hook from the opening in the bypass paper feed shaft by lifting

the shaft slightly, and remove the stopper and bushing from the shaft.
• Do not lift the bypass paper feed shaft too far.

3. Remove the screw and bypass upper pulley from the bypass paper feed shaft.
4. Clean or replace the bypass upper pulley.
5. Refit all the removed parts.
