Setting the Authentication Configuration
“Management Access Policy Configuration”
As part of the access point’s Management Policy, define how client authentication requests are validated
using either an external or internal authentication resource:

from the list of Management Policy options in the upper, left-hand, side of the
UI.
Enable FTP
Select the checkbox to enable FTP device access. FTP (
File Transfer
Protocol
) is the standard protocol for transferring files over a TCP/IP
network. FTP requires administrators enter a valid username and
password authenticated locally on the controller. FTP access is disabled
by default.
FTP Username
Specify a username required when logging in to the FTP server. The
username cannot exceed 32 characters.
FTP Password
Specify a password required when logging in to the FTP server.
Reconfirm the password in the field provided to ensure it has been
entered correctly. The password cannot exceed 63 characters.
FTP Root Directory
Provide the complete path to the root directory in the space provided.
The default setting has the root directory set to flash:/
Idle Session Timeout
Specify an inactivity timeout for management connects (in seconds)
between 0 - 1,440. The default setting is 120.
Message of the Day
Enter message of the day text to be displayed at login for clients
connecting via Telnet or SSH.
Filter Type
Use the drop-down menu to select the filter mechanism used as the
management policy access restriction. Options include
source-address
,
ip-access-list
and
None
.
IP Access List
Use the drop-down menu to select an existing list of IP addresses used
to control connection access to the access point. A default list is
available, or a new list can be created by selecting the
Create
icon. An
existing list can also be modified by selecting the
Edit
icon.
Source Hosts
Set multiple source host IP address resources.
Source Subnets
Define a list of subnets allowed administrative access. Use the Clear link
to the right of each host if wishing to remove that IP address.
Logging Policy
Use the drop-down menu to set the logging policy for administrative
access. Select from
None
,
denied-onl
y (logs denied requests only) and
All
(logs all requests).
