If no IP Inbound or Outbound rules exist meeting the required Firewall filtering criteria, select the
Create icon to set the inbound or outbound rule criteria. Select the + Add Row button or Delete icon as
needed to add or remove IP Firewall rules. Define the following parameters to create a new Inbound
or Outbound IP Firewall rule:
IP Firewall Rules
If creating a new IP Firewall rule, assign it a name (up to 32 characters)
to help differentiate it from others that may have similar configurations.
Allow
Every IP Firewall rule is made up of matching criteria rules. The action
defines what to do with the packet if it matches the specified criteria. The
following actions are supported:
Deny — Instructs the Firewall to prohibit a packet from proceeding to its
destination.
Permit — Instructs the Firewall to allow a packet to proceed to its
destination.
Source / Destination
Enter both Source and Destination IP addresses. The access point uses
the source IP address, destination IP address and IP protocol type as
basic matching criteria. The access policy filter can also include other
parameters specific to a protocol type (like source and destination port
for TCP/UDP protocols).
