11.3 Is It Connected Properly?

Problem Solution
The screen is blank.
1.
Press any key on your keyboard. If your screen saver was active,
the display will reappear. (This applies only if the operating
system is running. There is no screen saver at the console level.)
2.
Make sure that the system unit and monitor are turned on.
3.
Adjust the brightness and contrast controls.
4.
Turn off the system unit and monitor.
5.
Make sure that the system unit power cord and the monitor-to-
system-unit power cable or the monitor power cord are connected
correctly.
6.
Make sure that the video cable is securely connected to the
monitor and system unit.
7.
Make sure that your monitor is compatible with your graphics
module (see the TURBOchannel Options User’s Guide discussion
of your graphics module or monitor).
8.
Turn on the system unit and monitor.
The screen display is
distorted or unstable.
1.
Shut down your worksystem software, if necessary, and turn off
the system unit and monitor.
2.
Make sure that the video cable connectors are correctly attached
to the monitor and system unit.
3.
Make sure that your monitor is compatible with your graphics
module (see the
TURBOchannel Options User’s Guide
discussion
on your graphics module or monitor).
4.
Turn on the system unit and monitor.
