9. Turn on the system unit by pressing the | on the On/Off switch on the
back of the system unit.
The workstation performs either the quick or the full automatic power-up
self-test, depending on how the testaction environment variable has been
set. (For information about setting the testaction environment variable or
about the power-up self-test, see Section 3.3.)
10. If your workstation ran the quick self-test, type
test
at the console prompt

) and press Return. The workstation will then run the complete system
self-test.
If any part of a self-test fails, the system displays an error message. Turn
to Chapter 11 for troubleshooting instructions.
