6.5 Connecting the Workstation to an Ethernet Network

7. Push one of the connectors on the twisted-pair Ethernet cable into the

telephone-jack type of connector on the adapter until it clicks into place.

8. Put Ethernet loopback connectors on any unused Ethernet connectors in

the TURBOchannel option slots (see Figure 6–1).

9. Contact your system manager or, if authorized to do so, follow your in-

house procedures to finish connecting the workstation to the twisted-pair

network when the network is not active. Your workstation will not operate

properly with an unterminated twisted-pair adapter until it is connected to

the network.
