10.7 Environmental Variables
Environmental variables store system parameters and scripts and pass
information to the operating system. Some environmental variables persist;
others are lost when you turn off the power.
Table 10–4 summarizes the console commands for setting environmental
variables. Table 10–5 lists the standard environmental variables that you can
set.
