6. Put the R3000 module into the R4000 packaging. Paste on the address
label and mail to Digital.

9.3.3 To Test the CPU Module
1. Turn on your workstation. The workstation runs the power-up self test.
(For details about the self-test, see Chapter 3.)
2. When the console prompt (
>>
) appears, type
t 3/misc/cpu-type
.
If the system recognizes the CPU module, it displays the message:
3/misc
/cpu-type’s code:
NDX-111A
The
type-code
displayed should match that of the CPU module you
installed.
If your workstation fails to run the power-up self-test, you may have installed
the CPU incorrectly. The module connectors may not have been aligned
correctly. Try installing the CPU module again. If the test fails again, call your
Digital service representative for help.
