9.1 Installing and Removing Memory
9.1.2 To Test Memory Modules
1. Turn on the monitor. Then turn on the system unit.
The system unit runs the power-up self-test.
2. At the console prompt (>>), type one of the following:
•
t 3/mem *
to test all of the memory modules
•
t 3/mem
followed by a space and the number of a memory slot to test
the memory module installed in that slot. For example, to test the
module in memory slot 2, type t 3/mem 2 .
A display similar to the following appears on your screen as the memory
test progresses: Testing all memory modules can take up to 5 minutes.

When the test is done, the console prompt (

) appears. If an error
message appears, turn to Chapter 11 for troubleshooting instructions.
3. Type cnfg 3 at the console prompt and press Return to see the total
amount of memory in the workstation. A display like the following appears
on your screen:
>>cnfg 3
