5. Insert the SD card into the SD Flash Card Slot. Once inserted, the MSD should display
“U02”. The file will then be copied from the SD card to the controller RAM. This will take
only a few seconds.
NOTE:
If nothing happens when you insert the SD card, a possible cause is that you are using a SD card than
that the controller does not recognize.
Once the file transfer has completed successfully, the MSD will display “U06”, indicating the
controller is starting to write the new firmware to flash memory. The decimal points will flash in
sequence to indicate progress.
CAUTION:
While the flash is being updated, do NOT remove power. This will result in incomplete or missing
firmware components, making the controller inoperable.
Should you inadvertently loose power, rerunning the firmware update procedure and successfully
completing it will allow you to use the controller, in most cases.
6. During the update, the MSD will cycle through other update numbers as the firmware
components are written to the flash.
7. When the flash update has completed successfully, the MSD will display U00, indicating
the flash has been successfully written.
8. Disconnect power from the base and remove the controller from the base.
9. Set the firmware update switch to the Normal position. See Section 2.3. Reinstall the
controller in the base and apply power. The controller should start up in normal operating
mode.
10.4 Firmware Update Status Codes
The following status codes indicate progress in updating firmware. Under normal circumstances,
many actions happen so fast that a status code will not be displayed.
