1.  R em ove  snap  ring  from   front  o f  output  shaft  and

 

rem ove  Second-Third  synchronizer  assem bly  and  second

 

gear.  Mark  hub  and  sleeve  for  correct  assembly.

2.  R em ove  snap  ring  and  tabbed  thrust  w asher  from

 

shaft  and  rem ove  first  gear  and  blocking  ring.

3.  R em ove  First-R everse  hub  retaining  snap  ring.

 

Observe  position  o f  spring  and  keys  before  rem oval,  also,

 

m ark  hub  and  sleeve  for  correct  assembly.

Transm ission  Case

1.  W ash the transm ission thoroughly inside and outside

 

w ith  cleaning  solvent,  then  inspect  the  case  for  cracks.

2.  C heck  the  front  and  rear  faces  for  burrs,  and  if

 

present,  dress  them   o ff  with  a  fine  m ill  file.
