Inspect bushing for damage or scoring.
8. Inspect planet pinions for dam age, rough bearings
or tilt.
9. Check pinion end play. Pinion end play should be
0.24-0.69m m (0.009"-0.027"). (Figure 7A 1-78).
2. Install rollers that may have com e out o f roller clutch
cage, by com pressing the energizing spring with forefinger
and inserting roller from outer edge. (Figure 7A 1-80).
3. Install roller clutch assembly into roller clutch cam.
(Figure 7A 1-81).
4. Install roller clutch race, spline side out and rotate
clutch race cou nterclockw ise into position. (Figure 7A 1-82).
5. Install 4 tanged rear carrier to rear internal gear
thrust washer. A lign tangs into slots o f rear carrier and
retain with petrolatum . (Figure 7A 1-83).
6. Install roller clutch and rear carrier assem bly into
rear internal gear. (Figure 7A 1-84).
7. Install J-25013-1, open end first, into rear end o f case.
Bolt J -2 5 0 13-5 on end o f case. (Figure 7A 1-85).
8. Turn case to vertical position, pump end up.
9. Install rear unit parts into case and into J-25013-1
sleeve (Figure 7A 1-86), indexing rear internal gear parking
pawl lugs to pass by parking pawl tooth.
10. U sing J -2 5 0 13-5 adjusting screw (Figure 7A 1-85)
and looking through parking pawl case slot, adjust the
height o f the rear internal gear parking pawl lugs to align
flush with the parking pawl tooth.

Reassembly
1. Install roller clutch to rear carrier thrust washer.
(Figure 7A 1-79).

NOTICE:
M ake sure speedom eter drive gear is visible
through speedom eter gear bore. If drive gear is not
visible, it may be located on wrong journal o f shaft.
