NOTICE:
The front sun gear to front carrier thrust
bearing assembly may com e out as the front carrier is
removed.
NOTICE:
This thrust bearing requires only one thrust
race.
7. Input drum and rear sun gear assembly:
a. R em ove input drum and rear sun gear. (Figure 7A1-
45).
b. R em ove the 4 tanged input drum to reverse clutch
housing thrust w asher from rear o f input drum or from
reverse clutch housing.
8. Low and Reverse clutch housing assembly:
9. Grind approxim ately 20mm (3 /4 " ) from end of
6.3m m (N o. 4) easy out or equivalent to rem ove cup plug.
a. R em ove housing to case cup plug and seal by turning
screw 2 or 3 turns and pulling straight out. Discard cup plug
and seal. (Figure 7A 1-46).
b. R em ove low and reverse clutch housing to case
beveled snap ring. (Figure 7A 1-47).
NOTICE:
The flat side o f the ring should have been
against the low and reverse clutch housing with beveled
side up.
c. U sing J-25012, rem ove low and reverse clutch
housing assembly by m oving J-25012 back and forth.
(Figure 7A 1-48).
d. R em ove low and reverse clutch housing to case
spacer ring. (Figure 7A 1-49).

Snap Ring
1. G rasp output shaft and lift out remainder o f rear unit
parts and lay down in a horizontal position. (Figure 7A 1-
50).
2. R oller clutch and rear carrier assembly:
a. R em ove roller clutch and rear carrier assem bly o ff
output shaft.
b. R em ove the 4 tanged rear carrier to rear internal gear
thrust washer o ff the end o f the rear carrier, or inside the
rear internal gear. (Figure 7A 1-51).
3. R em ove lo and reverse clutch plates o ff output shaft.
