Equipment Overview

Visible Indicators

The system is equipped with a red and yellow indicating LED to signal alarms 360 degrees around the
CAE Air1 ventilator.

Audible Indicators

The system is equipped with a speaker to signal alarms. A backup buzzer is also present to signal a
malfunction in the primary alarm controller including its power source.

User Interface

LCD Touchscreen

The user interface device is a LCD touchscreen. It connects to the CPU using HDMI and USB cables.

On/Off Button

The system is powered on and off by pressing the on/off button. It is illuminated to indicate that it is
powered on.

Ventilation Control and Monitoring

The ventilation controller is responsible for:

• Controlling blower speed

• Controlling opening and closing of valves

• Controlling flow through proportional valves

• Monitoring the following sensors:

Pressure, inspiratory circuit (multiple)

Pressure, expiratory circuit

Flow, inspiratory circuit

Flow, expiratory circuit

Pressure, pure oxygen

Temperature, inspiratory circuit
