Troubleshooting

Fail Safe and Pressure Safe Modes

The automated ventilator responses to a mechanical failure or an over-pressurization event are
described in the following table.

Touchscreen is black or fro

• Ventilator was powered

off/on too quickly

• Power off the ventilator for a

minimum of 10 seconds,

then power on again.

Fail Safe displayed at Power

On.

• Ventilator was powered

off/on too quickly

• Power off the ventilator for a

minimum of 10 seconds,

then power on again.

• Mechanical failure wherein the safe

operating parameters of the

ventilator cannot be maintained.

• Repeated power surges from MCU.

• Ventilation halted and valves

open to create air pathway and

allow patient to breathe room air.

• High priority alarm indications.
• Fail Safe screen displayed on

touchscreen.

Pressure Safe

• Ppeak high alarm persists for three

respiratory cycles or 15 seconds.

• Plimit is reached ≥ 200 ms.

• Pressure safety valve opens to

relieve pressure.

• High priority alarm indications.
• Pressure Safe mode persists for

three seconds and then resumes

ventilation with the previous

settings.

• Pressure Safe mode may occur an

unlimited number of times.
