Using the Ventilator

Perform Inspiratory/Expiratory Hold
To access the Inspiratory/Expiratory holds:
1. Tap the Maneuvers button on the bottom of the Operation screen.
The Maneuvers panel appears.

2. To calculate the circuit pressure and plateau pressure, press and hold the Inspiratory
Hold button.
Note: The maneuver is completed with a maximum hold time of seven seconds. The
countdown timer begins when the button is pressed and is stopped automatically when
seven seconds is reached.
The calculated Pplateau value is displayed and the Pplateau widget value is updated.
3. To calculate the intrinsic PEEP value, press and hold the Expiratory Hold button.
The rise in PEEP pressure during the maneuver will be visible on the Pressure/Time graph.
Note: The Expiratory Hold maneuver may activate the apnea alarm.
4. Tap the Maneuvers button again to close the Maneuvers panel.
