• Measure the gap at 4 points:

• Write down the measurement data in the
shimming check sheet.
10. Determine the gap average, and then
round down the average to the 1/100
place.
Example:
TIP:
In the “Pinion shim (T3) selection table,” use
the round-down average for the pinion height
measurement (M).
11. Determine the pinion shim (T3) thickness
using the “Pinion shim (T3) selection
table” according to the pinion height
measurement (M) and the deviation “P”
stamped on the lower case.
Example:
Pinion height measurement (M) = 0.18 mm

Deviation “P” = +10

Use the determined shim thickness of 1.12
mm instead of the current shim thickness.

TIP:
The deviation “P” is stamped on the trim tab
mounting surface of the lower case in 0.01
mm units. If the value is unreadable, replace
the lower case.
12. Remove the special service tool, and
then install the determined pinion shims
(T3).
