Reducing the fuel pressure
Before servicing the high-pressure fuel
line or vapor separator, make sure to
reduce the fuel pressure in the fuel line.
Otherwise, pressurized fuel could spray
out.
1.
Remove the fuse cover

, and then
remove the fuse (15 A)

Start the engine and wait until the engine
stalls.
3.
Crank the engine 2 or 3 times.
4.
Turn the engine start switch to OFF.
5.
Install the fuse (15 A), and then install the
fuse cover.
Disconnecting the quick connector
Before disconnecting the quick connec-
tor, reduce the fuel pressure. Otherwise,
pressurized fuel could spray out.
1.
Reduce the fuel pressure. See “Reduc-
ing the fuel pressure” (6-7).
2.
Remove the flywheel magnet cover.
3.
Wrap a rag around the quick connector

4.
Spread apart the ends of the locking
slider

, and then move the locking
slider to the unlock position.
5.
Disconnect the quick connector

from
the fuel rail or vapor separator.
