RS-232
An interface which transmits data in serial mode. RS-232C has five
user-defined parameters: baud rate, data bits, parity, stop bits, and
protocol.
SCSI
Small Computer System Interface. Pronounced “SKUH-zee.” For
example, your Accel-a-Writer 812 features a SCSI interface port
through which you can chain multiple external hard disks. See also
SCSI Cable and SCSI Cable Termination.
SCSI Cable
A cable which links two SCSI peripheral devices on a SCSI chain.
See also SCSI.
SCSI Cable Termination
A device which reduces interference on the SCSI chain. See also
SCSI.
SCSI Disk
A disk that uses the SCSI communication protocol. Your Accel-a-
Writer 812 supports multiple external SCSI hard disks. See also
SCSI.
Serial
Interface technique which sends one bit of information at a time,
sequentially, between computers and local peripheral devices. Serial
interfacing is slower than parallel interfacing.
SIMM
Single In-Line Memory Module. A small, compact, circuit board
containing RAM (Random Access Memory) chips. See also RAM.
Style
Defines a typeface in terms of weight, slant, and proportion.
