bb
_______
<p1>
This refers to parameter 1. This value is
numeric. <p1> can have an optional ‘+’ or ‘-’,
and integers between ‘0’ and ‘9’ can include a
decimal point and additional integers to the right
of the point for fractional values.
<c1>
This is the terminating character signaling the
end of a parameter. If <c1> is a lowercase letter,
then more parameters will follow. If <c1> is
upper case, it signals the end of the parameter
and the end of the escape sequence.
<pn> and <cn> These refer to additional <p1> parameters and
<c1> terminating characters.
<data>
This refers to data that is sometimes required by
the escape sequence.
Note:
The ‘[’ and ‘]’ are not part of the escape sequence. They are
used to separate the parts of the command. Likewise, the ‘<’
and ‘>’ are not part of the command. They are used to
separate characters in the command and should not be
entered when building an escape sequence.
Supported HP PCL 5 Commands
It is easy to confuse lowercase L’s with the numeral 1. In the Page
Layout and Vertical Line Spacing commands, the character
immediately following the ‘&’ is a lowercase L (‘l’), not the numeral
1. The next character(s) are numeric, i.e. 1 or 0. The final character
in these commands is uppercase alphabetic. Notice the difference in
the number 0 and the uppercase alphabetic O.
