The Timeout Menu
The Timeout menu, MISC:TIMEOUT, allows you to select the
number of seconds the printer waits for additional incoming data
before cancelling a job and returning to the idle state, ready to accept
another job. This prevents the printer from being tied up indefinitely
on one job. The options are 20, 40, 60, 300, and never. The factory
default is 40 seconds.
Note:
If you send very large files, such as graphic intensive images
or CAD (Computer Aided Design) files, you should select
300 or NEVER. However, remember that if you select
NEVER, the printer does not time out and could remain tied
up on the current job until you cancel it. For example, if you
send a PCL job without a form feed command and the
timeout is set to never, subsequent jobs cannot print until
you send a form feed command or press the Form Feed key.
The Manual Feed Menu
The Manual Feed menu, MISC:MANFEED, allows you to select the
size of the media which is manually fed to the printer. The options
include letter, legal, a4, b5, executive, com-10, monarch, dl, and c5.
The factory default is LETTER.
Note:
If you print on a size that is not listed in the Manual Feed
menu, select the paper size through a software application.
Also, selections made in the application override this front
panel selection.
The Gamma Menu
The Gamma menu, MISC:GAMMA, refers to XANTÉ’s Halftone
Calibration Technology and allows you to select the gamma
correction setting for your printer. This selection allows you to adjust
midrange contrasts without changing the blacks and whites which
respectively affect shadows and highlights. The options are 0
through 6 with a factory default of 0 which means no change. The
