The display markers make it quite easy to read the phase error at any position of
the live display.
On first sight
– Level gives the RF power level received by the 4400 (in dBm).
– The Freq. error shows the mobile’s carrier offset to the expected frequency
(in Hz).
– The Phase rms expresses the mean difference between the modulated signal
and the perfect signal (in degrees, rms-valued).
– The Phase peak is the maximum phase error detected within a burst (in
degrees).
NOTE
The current MS power level, the mobile has been commanded to use, can be
seen and altered in the parameters section of this menu.
NOTE
A difference of about 1 dB between the commanded power level and the cur-
rently measured results is tollerable, especially at the top level of the power
level range.
However, a larger difference (leading to a Fail indication) could also be due to
power losses on connectors and RF cables. Those losses can be compensated
using the Coupling Loss sub menu under
