When operating the truck:
- check prop shaft flanges fixation shown in figures 56 and 57 systematically;
- if the radial (over 0.25 mm) and butt (over 0.35 mm) backlash in yoke bearings is too
large, disassemble the joints and change yoke bearings if necessary. When disassembling, do not
damage the seals; damaged seals should be replaced.

Front drive shaft and intermediate axle drive shaft construction is shown in figure 57.
Before assembling the joints grease the cavity between the work rims of the butt seal.
After assembly yokes must rotate in the bearings smoothly, without jams.
Check spline joint backlash systematically. If the backlashes are over 1.2 mm (drive
shaft of the front and rear axles is shown in figure 56) and 0.55 mm (lay shaft and rear axle drive
shaft are shown in figure 57), change the shafts.
When assembling the propeller shaft check that the arrows marked on the tube shaft and
the slide yoke are one opposite another, flanges and yokes must be in the position they were be-
fore disassembly. To do this, mark propeller shaft parts before disassembly.
