
8 Storage
8.1 Guideline
The new truck, if it is not put into service, could be kept without conservation within
three months starting with the date of the shipment from the factory. In this case after
installation of the truck in the storage place it is necessary to protect the undyed surfaces of the
front axle ball-unit with the fine coat of the lubricant Litol-24 or grease, to provide the
maintenance service of the battery energy storage and tires in accordance with the operational
guidelines.
If it is necessary to keep the truck in excess of the permitted period, then it should be
conserved and protected in accordance with the requirements of the present chapter.
The truck shall be stored in the clean, dry and ventilated room or under cover. Upon
storage on the open space tires, the steering wheel, rubber and plastic parts shall be kept from
sunlight, and engine with systems shall be covered with water-resistant package paper or
stained tape, tarpaulin and etc. The pressure of the tires shall be maintained in the inflated
condition.
To prevent the tire damage, the long-term contact of the tires and oils is prohibited
(e.g. the parking of the truck in oil puddles and oil stains).
8.2 Preparation for Storage
Provide daily maintenance service and scheduled Maintenance 1500-3000,
Maintenance-15000 depending on the odometer.
Fill up the housings of the transfer, the axle gearbox and steering control with
preservation or power oils up to workload; fill up the winch case with power oil.
Switch on the gear of the additional power take-off for 3-5 minutes while the engine
is running. But before make sure that the winch engagement lever is in off-position.
Implement the conservation of the engine and the gearbox in accordance with the
operation manual for the engine and the gearbox.
The air intake snorkel, the exhaust pipe and the junction pipe of the crankcase
ventilation shall be hermetically sealed.
Close the wheel valve.
Pour the water out of the windscreen washer reservoir.
Turn off the switch of the storage batteries.
Clean, wash, dry and talc rubber carpets of the cab floor, roll up and lay them down
on seats.
Upon storage at the open site, remove, pack the platform canopy, windscreen wipers,
rear view, wide-angle and side view mirrors and store them in the closed space.
Dry the canopy before the storage.
Cover the rubber technical goods with the protective coating according to the table 7
or wrap them with the packing material.
Close tight the hatch of the ventilation cab, close drop windows, door vents and pull
up the radiator blind.
Lubricate with the thin coat of the lubricant according to the table 22:
