4.1.4 Cooling System
The cooling system is dedicated to ensure optimal and stable engine temperature in any
operation mode by forced heat elimination from its parts.
The cooling system automatically ensures normal thermal condition of the engine opera-
tion in the pre-set operation conditions within full range of speed and load modes.
The engine cooling system is liquid, closed, with the installed viscous fan clutch, actuat-
ed on incoming air temperature, with forced coolant circulation; it is designed for all-season ap-
plication of antifreeze solutions. For conventional cab trucks it is shown in figure 40 and for
cabover trucks it is shown in figure 41.
Radiator14 (see figure 40) and radiator 10 (see figure 41) is tube-belt-type, tree-row, with
a filler neck. The filler neck 2 (see figure 40) and the filler neck 8 (see figure 41) has a leak-proof
plug 1 (see figure 40) and plug 9 (see figure 41). The bottom radiator tank has a drain plug. For
conventional cab trucks the radiator is installed on the frame 15 (see figure 40) being a carrier.
Casing 3 and casing 15 (see figure 41) is installed on the radiator.
