Before balancing clean the wheel and the tire from dirt and foreign objects.
Tire pressure should be nominal. During balancing position the wheel with the tire on a ded-
icated device along disc surface for spherical chamfers of mount holes.
Balance weights mounting scheme:
1. -Deflate tires.
2. Force the tire bead away from the bead ring in the area where balance weight is mounted
until 1-2 mm backlash appears using the tire iron.
3. Mount the weight with the spring on the bead ring, and holding it with your arm slightly
hammer the spring into the bead ring edge and upset it completely. If the spring is inserted incorrect-
ly, it can suddenly slide from the bead ring, that is why it is important to be careful.
4. Inflate the tire to nominal pressure.
5. Correct the position of balance weights if they are displaced along the perimeter or tum-
bled out the bead ring radius.
To remove balance weights insert a screw driver between the spring and the weight, force
the spring away from the bead ring until the weight is free, remove the weight and the spring.
Balance and swap the wheels when necessary. Tires swapping scheme is given in Figures 76
and 77.
When using the tires conform with “Tire Operation Rules” (Moscow, Chemistry, 1983)
