4.9 Dedicated Equipment
Auxiliary devices wiring schemes, their drives and power takeoff modes should be ap-
proved by the manufacturer. Propeller shafts installed by a customer to drive auxiliary devices
must have maximum 40 g*cm out-of-balance and 150 N (15 kgf) propel effort in spline joints.
4.9.1 Power Takeoff
Power Takeoff is single reduction, it is fastened to gearbox crankcase on the right and is
dedicated to drive auxiliary devices. Power Takeoff is manufactured in two design styles: with a
pump (see Figure 144) and a flange (see Figure 145).
Switch on the Power Takeoff when air pressure in the pneumatic system is 500 kPa (5
kgfm) at least and when the clutch is disengaged. Between Power Takeoff crankcase flanges ad-
justing gaskets are installed, they help to adjust side backlash in the gear engagement (noise-level
adjustment). When it is time to replace the gaskets by new ones, their thickness should be the
same.
