Oil from the pump enters one of the head ends of the steer, depending form turning di-
rection, and enhances turning movement of the drop arm due to hydraulic pressure on the piston
face.
Turn of the spool in reference to the wormscrew head is limited with blocks.
The steer is equipped with hydraulic rotating locks, which partially bypasses oil for
draining, before wheels do not turn to the full stop. The following turn of directive wheels will be
implemented with additional effort on the steering wheel.
4.4.3 Steering Wheel Oil Tank
The tank is installed separately from the pump. In the tank there is the filling strainer 3,
shown in figure 83. Oil, returning in the tank, runs through the filter 2. If the filter 2 is contami-
nated, the last raises the little, clenching the spring 7, and oil runs to the tank passing over the fil-
er. Oil level in the tank is controlled with indicator upon the unscrewed plug 4.
Oil level shall fall within the limits of marks in the indicator.

4.4.4 Steering wheel hydraulic booster pump is shown in figure 84 – vane type, pump
drive from the compressor by means of washers with the cross-shaped hole. Flow-limiting and
pressure limitation valves are installed in the pump. The pressure limitation valve is regulated for
the actuation pressure within the limits of 150-165 kgf/sm
2
. Established nominal performance of
the pump is 16-20 l/min.
