Changing the density to copy
You can change the density to make copies lighter or darker in nine steps from -4 to +4. The auto density setting can
represent the copy image in the middle density status. Follow the steps below to change the density.

You can access this function quickly with the button. The button operation varies from region to region.

You can also set the density on the “ADVANCED FUNCTION” menu.

1 Place the original.
2 Select the density to copy.
You can change the density on the basic setting menu.
1) Press the [SETTING/OK] button to enter the basic setting menu.
2) Press the or button to select “AUTO”.
The choice may be the density scale if it is set as the default.
3) Press the [SETTING/OK] button.
4) Press the or button to select “AUTO” or the density scale.
If you have selected “AUTO” at this step, skip the next steps 5 and 6.
5) If you have selected the density scale at the previous step, press the or button to increase or decrease the
density level.
6) Press the [SETTING/OK] button to return to the highest layer of the menu: if you press the [START] button
instead, the equipment starts copying immediately.
When you want to exit from the basic setting menu without changing the setting, select “CANCEL” with the or
button and press the [SETTING/OK] button. You can also exit from the menu layers with the [CLEAR/STOP]
button if it is active.

Press the [START] button.
The equipment starts copying.
