Adjust the side guides to the desired paper size.
Be sure that a gap of approx. 0.5 mm/0.02” (less than 1.0 mm/0.04” in total) is left between the paper and each side
guide (shown as “A” in the picture). If the gap is inappropriate, this could cause a paper misfeed.

Push the drawer straight into the equipment slowly until it comes to a stop.
Do not catch your fingers in the drawer when closing it.
This could cause injury.
Register the paper size into the equipment.
When you load paper in the drawer, register the size of the paper into the equipment. Be sure to register it correctly, or it
could cause a paper jam.

Be sure to register the paper size when you have changed it in the drawer, as well as when you load paper in the
drawer for the first time.
The “DRAWER SET POP-UP” function is useful when you often replace paper in the drawer. The registration menu for
the paper size can be displayed automatically whenever the drawer is closed. As a default, this function is on for North
America and off for other regions.

Loading paper on the bypass tray
Follow the procedure below to load paper on the bypass tray: the figure below illustrates loading A4/LT size paper.
