1. Cleaning cartridge
A maintenance cartridge that is made up of a wiper and flushing pad. Use this cartridge when performing
head cleaning. To replace the cleaning cartridge, see page 238 "Replacing a Cleaning Cartridge".
2. Head height adjustment knob
When the machine cannot be operated due to a media misfeed etc., raise the print heads by turning the knob,
and then move the carriage out.
3. Carriage
Discharges ink onto the media, and is equipped with print heads and a media sensor. It is possible to adjust
the height of the print heads to match the thickness of the media. To adjust the height of the print heads, see
page 147 "Head Height".
4. Capping station
Prevents nozzles from drying by capping the print heads. To clean caps, see "Cleaning the Caps", Requests
for Daily Care and Maintenance.

6. Media guide
Set media in accordance to its width. Set the media so that both edges pass under the media guides.
7. Platen
This is the media feeding surface (printing range). Clean this area if the back of the printed media becomes
dirty. See "Cleaning the Platen", Requests for Daily Care and Maintenance.
8. Vacuum hole
Sucks media and prevents it from rising.
9. Feed roller
Feeds media.
10. Pinch roller
Holds down set media from above.
