Setting the Gatekeeper Mandatory Parameters
5-9
The Application Parameters screen allows you to access the Gatekeeper module options.
Each module has parameters you can set relating a specific function. The following are the
Gatekeeper module options available:
Services Definition
– allows you to define the services available in the zone.
Zone Definition
– displays predefined endpoints and online endpoints that are not
predefined, allows you to add endpoints that do not support the RAS protocol to the zone
and to edit predefined and online endpoint properties. For more information, see “Zone
Definition” in Chapter 6, “Advanced Gatekeeper Configuration.”
Neighbor Gatekeepers
– allows you to define neighbor Gatekeepers in a multi-zone
environment. For more information, see “Multiple Zones” in Chapter 6, “Advanced
Gatekeeper Configuration.”
Network Topology
– allows you to define the topology of the network to optimize call
routing and network usage. For more information, see “Network Topology” in Chapter 6,
“Advanced Gatekeeper Configuration.”
Network Control
– allows you to set additional parameters that control the way in which
the network is used. For more information, see “Network Control” in Chapter 6, “Advanced
Gatekeeper Configuration.”
For basic configuration, the only mandatory Gatekeeper parameters you have to set are the
Gatekeeper Services.
The internal Gatekeeper function is enabled by default. If you are using an external
gatekeeper, either on another RADVision unit or on a terminal, you must disable the
Gatekeeper function in this unit. For instructions, see “Disabling the Gatekeeper Function,”
page 5-12.
