6-1
Overview
The advanced configuration includes all the modifiable parameters of the internal
Gatekeeper not covered in the basic configuration. These options are not necessarily related
and you do not have to follow them sequentially, unless otherwise stated. These
configuration options include:
!"
Defining Gatekeeper built-in services.
!"
Defining service access control for the services you defined in the previous chapter.
!"
Defining a group of terminals as service providers to allow single number access to
these terminals.
!"
Determining which endpoints can register with the Gatekeeper.
!"
Configure the Gatekeeper to work with other Gatekeepers on the network.
!"
Dividing the Gatekeeper zone for optimal call routing.
!"
Setting network administration parameters.
Note: All references to a gatekeeper in this chapter are particular to the internal
Gatekeeper.
Advanced Services Definition
You can define advanced services provided by the Gatekeeper that allow you to control
inter zone dialing and provide a forwarding service for users. These advanced services are
built-in the Gatekeeper and include Forward, Zone Prefix 1, Zone Prefix
2 and Exit Zone
.
For more information, see “Gatekeeper Services” in Chapter 2, “Overview.”
