To dial from a local ISDN or PSTN phone to a remote ISDN phone through Gateways
via an IP network
•
Dial the voice call service prefix of the
remote
Gateway followed by the phone
number of the destination ISDN phone. The local PBX forwards the call to the local
Gateway. The local Gatekeeper recognizes that the call service prefix belongs to the
remote Gatekeeper and routes the call accordingly. The remote Gatekeeper forwards
the call service request as a normal LAN-to-WAN call to the remote Gateway and the
remote Gateway routes the call to the PBX that in turn delivers the call to the
destination ISDN phone.
Example:
9 3333
Where 9 is the voice call service prefix of the remote Gateway and 3333 the phone number
of the destination ISDN phone.
Note: Depending on the PBX, you may also have to dial a PBX port prefix.
