Enabling Media Patrol, PDM, and Power Management on a

Disk Array (CLU)

Media Patrol checks the magnetic media on physical drives. Predictive Data Migration (PDM)

migrates data from the suspect physical drive to a spare drive

before

the physical drive fails. Power

Management parks the heads, spins down, and stops rotation after a set period of time to reduce

power consumption.

Media Patrol, PDM, and Power Management are enabled by default. Enabled is the recommended

setting for both features.

To enable Media Patrol, PDM, and Power Management on a disk array:
