FUSE DESCRIPTION
Main fuses
Location:
Two pieces located near the main switch.
Description:
6 x 32 mm glass tube fuse. Rated 8 A for 220/240 V; 15 A for 100/110 V
SLOW BLOW.
Function:
To protect the whole equipment. All power is delivered via these fuses.
Reasons for blow:
- Mains wiring short circuit after fuses
- Filter defective
- Bad fuse or wrong rating
Indication:
No power or action in the unit.
Analysis:
Mains voltage found at wall outlet but not at the low voltage power supply
board.
Low voltage power supply fuse F1
Location:
On the circuit board below connector P4.
Description:
Multifuse MF-R400
Function:
To protect all the secondary circuits except for positioning lamps and tube
power generator. All other electronics is powered via this fuse.
Reasons for multifuse to disconnect the circuit:
- Short circuit in 33 V line wiring to processor boards and keyboard.
- Motor controller circuitry defective on either processor board.
- Keyboard capacitor C8 defective.
- Overvoltage in the mains. If +12% is exceeded the overvoltage protection
circuitry will blow the fuse to protect the equipment.
- Bad multifuse
Indication:
No power or action in the unit.
Analysis:
- Remove connectors P1 and P4 at low voltage power supply board and try
if the fuse still disconnects. If it blows and there is no overvoltage condition,
the low voltage power supply board is defective.
